“Yoga cultivates health and wellbeing (physical, emotional, mental and social) through the regular practice of a range of many different techniques, including postures and movement, breath awareness and breathing exercises, relaxation and concentration, self-inquiry and meditation. Yoga is an approach to life that values appropriate effort, based on balance and harmony, within each person and with each other”.

I started teaching yoga in 2018 after I completed my Diploma of Yoga Teaching with the Victorian Institute of Yoga Education and Teacher Training (VIYETT). As an accredited yoga teacher (with Yoga Australia) my approach is to really get to know you so that I can provide a holistic response that is tailored to your needs. I am especially interested in assisting students, community groups, and those experiencing trauma and social isolation.
I currently teach regular open classes 8pm on Monday evenings at Diamond Creek Community Centre and closed classes for women from The Salvation Army Crossroads. I also teaching regular open classes with Salvos Yoga at Reservoir (9:30am) on Tuesdays, in Coburg North (1:15pm) on Fridays and at Preston (6:30pm) on Wednesday nights (starting October 8). Classes coming soon to Richmond. To book a class just click on the Salvos Yoga logo. As a registered Yoga Australia teacher I am fully insured, have a current Working With Children Check and a current First Aid Certificate.

TRAUMA SENSITIVE YOGA
“Trauma Sensitive Yoga Australia is a community of yoga teachers and mental health clinicians who have an interest in expanding the awareness of trauma sensitive practices within the traditional yoga class format and clinical setting. The aim of this community is to educate and develop awareness of the benefits of these techniques in conjunction with the psychological support that clients in trauma recovery may already be receiving”.
As a Trauma Aware yoga practitioner I can help you to learn how to calm your mind and regain safety in your body. Trauma sensitive yoga can help you regain a sense of empowerment and choice for yourself.
